Hiya, you gorgeous lot.
Thank you so much for joining me today on the fantastic, You Had Me at Merlot blog tour.
Shall we just jump straight in?
🍷Blurb: Elle and Laurie are the last ones standing: they’re single, they’re not having babies any time soon and their weekends aren’t filled with joyful meetings about mortgages. For Elle, this is fine. She likes her independent life, but Laurie wants love and she wants it now.
So when Laurie begs Elle to come with her on a singles holiday to a beautiful vineyard in Tuscany, Elle is reluctant. She has no intention of swapping her perfectly lovely life for someone else’s idea of her Mr Perfect, but ten days under the Italian sun with her best friend and lashings of wine? How bad could that be?
🍷Review: I was first introduced to Lisa Dickenson and You Had Me at Merlot back in 2014. At the time, You Had me at Merlot was a four part mini-e-series that I divulged in and absolutely loved. When I heard it was to be released as a full-length novel I was so over the moon for Lisa. And for me obviously because I then get to read it again with fresh eyes and have it in a beautiful paperback.😍
I was a bit apprehensive going in again I won’t lie because I did really enjoy it and my reviews hyped it up big style. I didn’t want that not to be the same, you know what I mean? We’ve all gone back on a so-called favourite book and have been like, ‘Really? This is SO not what I thought it was!’.
Anyway, I got me self all comfy readying myself for a chapter or two, like you do, but that chapter or two did not stop until I turned that very last page. And I’ll tell you something for nothing, that has NOT happened to me for a very long time.
Oh my god, it is so good! I totally forgot so much about both the plot and characters, but more so how utterly fucking hysterical it is.
You Had Me at Merlot proved to be a fast, fluid and steady read throughout, with multiple laughter, giggling and snorting going on, not very lady like I know, but who gives a shit when it’s making you happy, right? That teamed with a dynamic and very down to earth plot based in an exquisite Tuscany Vineyard, and an array of vivid and very different characters, it gives us one overall book of everything us girls need. A beautiful romance read enriched with friendship, laughter, sun and life. Or in other words, sun, sex, friends, laughter a bit of drama and lots and I mean lots of wine. See? It’s our dreams come true.
Again I was blown away by Lisa Dickenson as an author. Her style, wit and honestly in her writing is thrilling. She allows you to open up fully so you can totally relax and be yourself. I like that. I like being at ease, and I like reading with up-to-date writers who will crush old school writing boundaries and revamp them with their own. She’s definitely one to look out for is our Lisa.
So, to re-cap. I loved it, I think you will love it. it’s a beautiful read. It’s deep, empathetic and totally relatable. And of course gives you a fantastic excuse to go buy yourself a bottle of wine.
Happy drinking! I mean, reading! 😳

Lisa Dickenson was born in the wrong body. She was definitely meant to be Beyoncé. Despite this hardship, she grew up in Devon attempting to write her own, completely copyright-infringing versions of Sweet Valley High, before giving Wales a go for university, and then London a go for the celeb-spotting potential. She’s now back in Devon, living beside the seaside with her husband and forcing cream teas down the mouths of anyone who’ll visit. She is sadly still not Beyoncé.
Lisa’s first novel, The Twelve Dates of Christmas, won the Novelicious Debut of the Year award and was an instant hit with readers who were won over by her wit, charm and naughty sense of humour – she’s got her fingers crossed that everyone feels the same about You Had Me at Merlot.

Once again thanks for joining me today, I hope you’ll continue with Lisa on the tour and go buy yourself the book and a bottle of wine. Go on you deserve it. Tell your fella you’re allowed, I said so.
Big shout out to Lisa herself and the delightful Clara over at Little Brown for asking me to take part on the tour.
Love as always, N 😘
