BT – The Day of the Accident by Nuala Ellwood.

Seriously can you believe it’s Monday already? No need at all is there? 😩👎🏻

To cheer you up and out of your Monday blues, I have a book so good it is sitting higher than higher on my book of 2019 list. Seriously, it’s going to be hard to catch it up.

So, I have the honour to be hosting and starting off the blog tour for Nuala Ellwood’s brand new release, The Day After the Accident.

Also, Hi everybody, I hope you’re all doing ok today? Thanks for popping over. Sorry for being ignorant 🤦🏻‍♀️

♦️Blurb: They say you killed…BUT WHAT IF THEY’RE WRONG?

Sixty seconds after she wakes from a coma, Maggie’s world is torn apart

The police tell her that her daughter Elspeth is dead. That she drowned when the car Maggie had been driving plunged into the river. Maggie remembers nothing.

When Maggie begs to see her husband Sean, the police tell her that he has disappeared. He was last seen on the day of her daughter’s funeral.

What really happened that day at the river?

Where is Maggie’s husband?

And why can’t she shake the suspicion that somewhere, somehow, her daughter is still alive?

♦️My Thoughts: A slow fumbling suspenseful start that cascades so fast into a deep night-terror so dark and soul destroying it has you fighting hard to get out of it.

A violating, fearsome and mind challenging read with a complex plot and a mother lost in it all just trying to do what any mother would for her child – everything!

To be totally honest with you here, I was pretty scared going into this read as I am a HUGE advocate for Nuala’s debut novel, My Sister’s Bones and was worried it could not be matched or bettered. By the way, if you’ve not already read it, I seriously recommend it to you it’s fabulous!

Anyway, I should definitely not have worried because with a skill, precision and mind of absolute horror Nuala has done it again. You are taken into the dark from the start and gripped, kicked, shocked and left to digest a twist so crazy you will be thinking of it for a very long time after you’ve finished.

Clever. Original. Inventive. Exhilarating.
