1. Free Me by Laurelin Paige

Blurb: From the NYT bestselling author of the Fixed Trilogy…

I wasn’t supposed to be working the night I met JC.

Before him, I’d been content with the daily grind, managing one of NYC’s top nightclubs. So what if my life didn’t have a happily ever after? I didn’t believe in that anyway.

Then JC showed up.

Sexy, rich and smooth-talking, JC is nothing more than a distraction. I’m not interested in a night-in-shining latex so it’s easy to push the playboy away. Or it is until my life spins unexpectedly out-of-control. Then he’s there for me, offering a new method of survival, one based on following primal urges and desires that requires me to abandon my constant need for control.
His no-strings-attached lessons obliterate my carefully built walls. And as I discover freedom, I start to feel things for him that I shouldn’t. Things that make me fear for my newly vulnerable heart. Because JC has secrets of his own, and his secrets don’t want to set him free.

2. Silence by Natasha Preston

Blurb: For eleven years, Oakley Farrell has been silent. At the age of five, she stopped talking, and no one seems to know why. Refusing to communicate beyond a few physical actions, Oakley remains in her own little world.

Bullied at school, she has just one friend, Cole Benson. Cole stands by her, refusing to believe that she is not perfect the way she is. Over the years, they have developed their own version of a normal friendship. However, will it still work as they start to grow even closer?

When Oakley is forced to face someone from her past, can she hold her secret in any longer?

3. The Memory of Water by JT Lawrence

Blurb: Slade Harris will do anything for a story, including murdering the woman he loves.

Slade doesn’t think twice about jumping out of a plane or conducting disastrous love affairs to gather material for his work, but his self-indulgent life is catching up with him. Stumbling through his late thirties hopeless and a little drunk, Slade has a dazzling, dangerous idea which will change his life forever. It’s going to be Slade’s ultimate story … and all he’s hoping for is to survive it.

4. Finding Home by Becca Taylor

Blurb: Katerina

After a six year relationship with someone who made Katerina feel less than perfect, she is ready for a fresh start. With her grandmother’s words in her mind, she begins seeking out new experiences by creating a list of adventures she’d like to complete. First on the list, a night out with friends. Which leads to the second item on her list, a one night stand. That single night with Caleb is one she can’t get out of her head. However, just when she thinks her life is moving forward, her past comes back. Making her doubt herself, her adventure list and her dreams of finding home.

Caleb

Caleb isn’t the settling down type. His life is exactly what he wants, an uncomplicated routine. He has his boys, his business, his bass and his bike. Caleb’s life motto is work hard, ride his motorcycle harder and play music the hardest. Until the night he met Katerina. Suddenly, everything he thought he wanted wasn’t enough. For the first time in his life, he was thinking about his future. His future with her.

5. A Village Romance by Lynda Renham

Blurb: As a heatwave rolls into Little Perran, so does love. Billy Baxter, the has-been rock star, and Rafe Wylde, the hunky farm worker arrive, both destined to cause havoc as they touch the lives of the villagers. 6. In Between by Jenny B. Jones

She launches a full-scale plan to get sent back to the girls’ home when she finds herself in over her head…and heart. When Katie and her new “wrong crowd” get into significant trouble at school, she finds her punishment is restoring a historic theater with a crazy grandma who goes by the name of Mad Maxine. 7. Free by Kelly Favor

Blurb: Twenty-two-year-old Lanie Day has only just moved into her own apartment for the first time. But she has no job and no real experience.

In anything.

Least of all men.

But when she’s able to snag an interview at a hot new tech startup company, she comes face-to-face with its sexy and wild CEO, Brayden Forman.

Brayden is a playboy who’s known for chewing women up and spitting them out, and now somehow he’s become fixated on Lanie.

Lanie’s lack of experience gives him a blank canvas on which to paint his deepest and darkest fantasies.

And with each new encounter, the dominant CEO teaches his shy assistant the pleasures and seductions of being naughty in the workplace…

Soon the two of them are locked in a game of mystery, seduction, and raging desire that knows no bounds. That is, until Lanie is pushed beyond her limits.

And Brayden Forman has enemies that are lurking and waiting to come out of the shadows to finally destroy him. Only now they might also destroy Lanie Day right along with him.

8. You Loved Me at My Darkest by Evie Harper

Blurb: Blood is thicker than water…

Having endured more than their share of tragedy, sisters Lily and Sasha embark on a dream holiday—only to find themselves in hell. Kidnapped by a rich madman, Sasha is sold into slavery, while Lily is forced to join The Collection, a unique bevy of exotic beauties enduring frequent horrors at the hands of elite bidders. However, no amount of pain and suffering will break Lily, who will stop at nothing to save her younger sister. Possibly with help from an unlikely ally.

Love is stronger than loyalty…

Attempting to prove his allegiance to his employer, Jake is tasked with guarding the unruly and uncontrollable Lily. He can’t afford to help her in her quest to free Sasha—not if he hopes to fulfill his own agenda. But in their dark, gritty, tension-filled world, solace is taken wherever it’s found. Bonds are formed and hearts engage despite Jake’s resistance and both their attempts at self-preservation.

When certain secrets come to light, the resulting explosion has breathtakingly bittersweet consequences that, by the end, may not leave everyone whole…or alive.

9. The Substitute by Denise Grover Swank

Blurb: Megan Vandemeer meant to tell her parents about her broken engagement, but a month and a half later she finds herself boarding a plane home to her wedding. Having stretched avoidance to its limits, it’s time to come clean–a terrifying prospect since her mother is sure to blame her rather than her cheating, emotionally frigid ex. A couple of drinks and two Dramamine later, Megan finds herself spilling her sob story to the tall, dark, and handsome stranger in the seat next to her.

With only one week left to save his business, Josh McMillan boards a plane to Kansas City in a last-ditch effort, leaving the details to chance. An unexpected answer is delivered in the form of the beautiful brunette beside him. Though she’s completely loopy, her honesty, openness, and humor charm him. So when she passes out before landing, he helps her off the plane–a good deed that leads to a colossal misunderstanding. Her parents assume he’s her fiancé. In a twist of fate, the mix-up might help Josh save his business, so he plays along, figuring he can help Megan too. All he has to do is stage a public break up convincing enough to appease her mother.

Josh is only supposed to be a substitute groom, but the more time he and Megan spend together, the more their pretend engagement starts to feel real…and the less they want to break it off. Can a relationship that began as a farce turn into happily ever after?

10. Twenty Eight and a Half Wishes by Denise Grover Swank

Blurb: For Rose Gardner, working at the DMV on a Friday afternoon is bad even before she sees a vision of herself dead. She’s had plenty of visions, usually boring ones like someone’s toilet’s overflowed, but she’s never seen one of herself before. When her overbearing momma winds up murdered on her sofa instead, two things are certain: There isn’t enough hydrogen peroxide in the state of Arkansas to get that stain out, and Rose is the prime suspect.

Rose realizes she’s wasted twenty-four years of living and makes a list on the back of a Wal-Mart receipt: twenty-eight things she wants to accomplish before her vision comes true. She’s well on her way with the help of her next door neighbor Joe, who has no trouble teaching Rose the rules of drinking, but won’t help with number fifteen– do more with a man. Joe’s new to town, but it doesn’t take a vision for Rose to realize he’s got plenty secrets of his own.

Somebody thinks Rose has something they want and they’ll do anything to get it. Her house is broken into, someone else she knows is murdered, and suddenly, dying a virgin in the Fenton County jail isn’t her biggest worry after all.

11. Not Over You by Amanda Torrey

Savannah prefers to lace up her running shoes, but Quentin is determined to create a treatment plan to help her settle in for the long haul.

Can a decade of pain be healed with a healthy dose of love? Or will Healing Springs fail to live up to its legendary name?

12. Remember When by T. Torrest

Blurb: Years before Trip Wiley could be seen on movie screens all over the world, he could be seen sitting in the desk behind me in my high school English class.

This was back in 1990, and I cite the year only to avoid dumbfounding you when references to big hair or stretch pants are mentioned. Although, come to think of it, I am from Northern New Jersey, which may serve as explanation enough. We were teenagers then, way back in a time before anyone, himself included, could even dream he’d turn into the Hollywood commodity that he is today.

I’m sure I don’t need to tell you who Trip Wiley is. But on the off chance you’ve been living under a rock for the past decade, just know that these days, he’s the actor found at the top of every casting director’s wish list. He’s incredibly talented and insanely gorgeous, the combination of which has made him very rich, very famous and very desirable.

And not just to casting directors, either.

I can’t confirm any of the gossip from his early years out in Tinseltown, but based on what I knew of his life before he was famous, I can tell you that the idea of Girls-Throwing-Themselves-At-Trip is not a new concept.

I should know. I was one of them.

And my life hasn’t been the same since.

13. Set Me Free by Daniela Sacerdoti

Blurb: Set Me Free is a hauntingly beautiful story of love, loss and new beginnings. Margherita’s marriage is slowly falling apart. Getting pregnant after trying for so long may have been a wonderful surprise for her, but for her husband it was the last straw. When she needs him most, she realises he’s just not there for her. Needing time away to figure out where their marriage is going, Margherita decides to leave London and spend the summer in Glen Avich, to help out in her mum’s new coffee shop. She needs to reconnect with her adopted daughter Lara and her young son and sort out her life. But Glen Avich can have a strange effect on people, and when she and Lara start working for Torcuil Ramsay at a rundown local estate, everything begins to change. Margherita finds her heart awakened in a way she never thought possible and Lara begins a new friendship with a mysterious local boy, Mal, which makes her mother feel increasingly uneasy. And just when Margherita is finally beginning to discover what she really wants, she finds out how quickly things can change and how hard it can be to make brave choices.

14. Wicked by Alexis Blake

Blurb: When Grace is gripped tightly from behind in her own home, fearing for her life as an intruder presses hard against her, the last thing she expects to hear is the voice of her husband in a cool, demanding tone, right in her ear, “I’m going to rip your clothes off and take you right now…”

Grace and Steve have been together since school. They’re each other’s first love, and they are blissfully happy. Or, at least, that’s what Grace thought.

But when Steve suddenly turns the dial up on their sex life, shifting from rare moments of intimacy to an erotic re-enactment of one of Grace’s most sexy fantasies, she is excited but even more confused. What’s the reason for Steve’s sudden erotic dominance? Is he masking his guilt? And is her perfect relationship on the verge of shattering?

Or is he unleashing a deep fire within that is about to awaken their sexuality?

15. The Troll Whisperer by Sera Trevor

Blurb: Oscar Lozada is repulsive, and he likes it that way. His apartment is always a wreck, he works at a sewage plant, and he’s an abrasive jerk to just about everyone. When he’s not out drinking and hooking up with strangers, he trolls people on the Internet for lulz. His life changes when he finds out a victim of his trolling lives right next door. Noah is super hot and disarmingly nice. In spite of himself, Oscar starts to fall for him. All he has to do is make sure Noah never discovers the truth behind his trollish ways.

16. Shopaholic on Honeymoon by Sophie Kinsella

Blurb: The new Mr and Mrs Brandon are on honeymoon, and Becky has big plans! They’ve got a whole year to explore Venice, learn yoga in India, sleep in little wooden huts in South America… maybe even see penguins in the Antarctic. And of course they’ll need to buy just a few essential souvenirs along the way (everyone needs a set of Murano glass goblets, after all).

They’re not just tourists, they’re travellers. Becky is sure it is just the thing that Luke needs – time to unwind. He’ll come back a changed man… with all the good bits still intact of course.

But it soon becomes clear that Luke has different plans entirely. Can Becky help him let go, or will this little disagreement threaten their whole honeymoon?

17. Desert Rose by Laura Taylor

Blurb: The secret police of a renegade Middle East nation hold two politically sensitive prisoners separate from the others… Marine Corps aviator David Winslow and humanitarian relief worker Emma Hamilton are the sole inmates of a special cellblock. They bond emotionally and sensually, despite being housed in separate cells, as they endure interrogations, torture, and the constant threat of death. When fate unexpectedly liberates them from the prison compound, their dash for freedom includes the seductive culmination of weeks of emotional foreplay. But once they flee the country, David doubts Emma’s certainty that she is in love with him. He fears that she feels only gratitude.

18. When I Fall in Love by Melissa Storm

He surprises himself by inviting her out for an impromptu night on the town, and she shocks him even more by agreeing. As the night progresses, the two share their past histories and secret dreams, and James realizes that she is the perfect woman for him. The only problem is that he ships off to Korea the next morning. Fulfilling his duty is non-negotiable to James, even if fighting for his country will ultimately break both of their hearts.

Deborah promises to wait for him, but two years is a long time to put her life on hold, especially for a man she only knew for one day. When Rip Rockwell returns from the war and James does not, Rip proposes marriage to Deborah. She agrees and they build a beautiful life together until his death fifty years later. Through it all, though, she can never quite forget her first love. She retires to Abilene, expecting to live out the rest of her days in peace. So imagine her surprise when James Morgan moves in next door…

19. Free to be Tegan by Mary Grand

Blurb: Tegan, aged twenty seven, is cast out of the cult, rejected by her family and from the only life she has known. She is vulnerable and naïve but she also has courage and the will to survive. She travels to Wales, to previously unknown relations in the wild Cambrian Mountains.

This is the uplifting story of her journey from life in a cult to find herself and flourish in a world she has been taught to fear and abhor.

Guilt and shadows from her past haunt her in flashbacks, panic attacks and a fear of the dark. However she also finds a world full of colour, love and happiness she has never known before. The wild beauty of the hills, the people she meets and the secrets slowly revealed by the cottage all provide an intriguing backdrop to Tegan’s drama.

How do you go back to normal after you’ve met someone who has turned your life upside down? When you fear the passionate connexion but don’t want to live for anything else? BLOG TOUR: READ IT BEFORE YOU SEE IT! – The Choice by Nicholas Sparks.

As book geeks we don’t actually take it too well when a book movie is released do we? It’s not that we don’t want the film to be a success, or that we won’t enjoy the film once we’ve finally taken the book-chips off of our shoulders and actually seen the film adaptation like, but we just prefer the added intimacy and extras that we get from reading the books.

So, for them reasons and basically because I’m just a book bitch who sneers at film adaptations, I am thrilled to be involved with another one of, Nicholas Sparks, READ IT BEFORE YOU SEE IT campaigns. This time it being for, The Choice.

Now, back in 2008, maybe 2009 (I’m actually not too sure of the exact date) was the first and only time that I have actually read The Choice. Obviously I’m rusty, and obviously I read completely different these days with me reviewing. So, of course I’ve delved back in for a second take and well because if there’s a film adaptation due out for a book I know will work great on screen, I will read or re-read it. It’s just what I do.

It’s common knowledge that Nicholas Sparks books are the ultimate reads to be turned into feature films. The Choice, being film number eleven out of the nineteen books Sparks has published we already know it’s going to be great don’t we? But will it be as good as the book is?

For me, I’m unsure. Well that’s not just because I’ve not seen the film yet, but because out of all the Nicholas Sparks books I have read, this is not one of my favourites. *Gasp* I know shock-horror right? How dare I say that during promo for it. Well, I’m not going to lie to you am I? But just because it’s not my favourite out of his collection does not mean it’s not a fucking cracking read because it so is. The Spark charm is rife from the very first page, and like always you devour every single word. Oh and you cry, and your heart breaks, and it’s just so bloody amazing.

There’s a lot of “Come on? Isn’t this man even going to let any other male author in with a shot?” talk about. And well, my answer to that is; I hope not because without him and his meticulous writing skills, deep thoughtful and utterly charming mind, the world would not be as beautiful. His words are just so beautiful and to me that would be such a huge loss.

Anyway, grab yourself a copy of The Choice. Then get your mates to read it. Then you’ve all got an excuse for a night at the flicks which includes lots of wine after it so you can fight over if you thought the film is as good as the book. Perfect night 😜
